The MGA’s Communications department aims to keep you informed on all things Met Area golf through it’s variety of platforms.

The MGA communications team takes pride in its role of both informing and entertaining its members by sharing engaging content through a myriad of mediums. They utilize several channels such as The Met Golfer, The Met Golfer EXTRA, social media platforms, the Annual Report, and the MGA e-Revision Newsletter to distribute content in a thoughtful and effective manner.

Publications: The MGA produces its award-winning publication The Met Golfer five times a year, with its contents focusing on local events, news, people, and issues in the Met Area golfing community. The Met Golfer EXTRA stands as its companion, being distributed monthly via email and sharing brief, visually driven stories.

The My MGA App: The My MGA App is a valuable resource for MGA members to track and manage their golf game all from their mobile device. Updated features for 2021 include hole-by-hole score entry, year-to-date performance summaries, comprehensive performance statistics, an updated course handicap calculator, a course rating/slope database as well as access to MGA championship registration, schedules and results.

Website: The MGA’s website serves as the go-to destination for all things Met Area golf. Visitors can read the latest news, view championship results and live scoring, discover the MGA’s rich history, learn about the MGA Foundation, find the latest MGA Play Days, and browse valuable educational resources on the Rules of Golf and the World Handicap System. Plus, a responsive design allows for ease of use, no matter the device.

Video Content: The video library is home to a very large portion of our multimedia content. The communications team works all season producing video content that includes championship previews and recaps, foundation event recaps, Player of the Year honors, “Met Method” instructional videos, and videos honoring the annual inductees into the MGA Honors.

Social Media: The MGA’s social media efforts strive to keep its followers and the Met area up to date on important events, upcoming tournaments, live championship scoring updates and relevant video content. During the week of an important event, the MGA’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts are all focused on posting updates, information and content pertinent to said event.
