MGA Client Associations
The MGA provides a variety of administrative and managerial services to many local golf groups.
MGA Client Associations Include:
Caddie and Golf Service Managers Association (CGSMA)
The mission of the Caddie and Golf Services Managers Association is to secure, strengthen and pass on the oldest service tradition in the game of golf, that of the player’s caddie, and to promulgate a notion of professional service that lends credit to our fraternal members and the constituent clubs they represent. Membership is open to the approximately 500 caddie managers, assistant caddie managers and starters in the NY, NJ and CT Met Area.
Father and Son Golf Association (FSGA)
The Father and Son Golf Association hosts annual, collegial father-son golf tournaments for approximately 120 competing teams. The group promotes friendly competition, sportsmanship, and golf traditions.
Hudson Valley Golf Course Superintendents Association
The Hudson Valley Golf Course Superintendents Association promotes interest and good will in the association, encourage good relations between members and the clubs they represent, and keep up with the current developments in turf and related work.
Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund (LICSF)
The Long Island Caddie Scholarship Fund (LICSF) provides need-based financial assistance to deserving caddies and others who have worked in service to golf, assisting in the pursuit of a higher education
Metropolitan Club Managers Association (MCMA)
The Metropolitan Club Managers Association advances the profession of club management and the careers of club managers by fulfilling the education and related needs of its members.
MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund (MGACSF)
The Metropolitan Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund (MGACSF), formerly called the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund, Inc. (WGACSF), is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational, nonprofit organization, that provides financial need-based scholarships to caddies and others who work in service to golf at local participating golf and country clubs throughout the following counties: Fairfield (Conn.), Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester (N.Y.).
Metropolitan Golf Course Superintendents Association (MetGCSA)
The MetGCSA is an association of Golf Course Superintendents committed to the science and art of golf course management for the welfare of the game of golf. The MetGCSA actively works to highlight the organization and business effectiveness of the profession and advances the professional image and well-being of members to today’s golfing patron.
Metropolitan Golf Writers Association (MGWA)
The Metropolitan Golf Writers Association has honored the game of golf since 1952 through storytelling, recognition, and charitable support that impacts players, clubs, and communities across the New York metro area.
Tri-State Turf Research Foundation
The Tri-State Turf Research Foundation is concerned with finding environmentally safe controls for turfgrass pests and problems common to tri-state area golf courses in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Orchestrating the foundation’s activities is a Board of Directors made up of three representatives from each of the six affiliated associations: the MetGCSA, New Jersey GCSA, Connecticut AGCS, Long Island GCSA, Hudson Valley GCSA, and the MGA.
United States Seniors’ Golf Association (USSGA)
The United States Seniors’ Golf Association (“USSGA”) is the nation’s oldest golf association for “senior” golfers, i.e., those who are at least 55 years old. The USSGA was organized to promote friendly competition in golf among seniors and to preserve the traditional spirit of golf.
Westchester Seniors Golf Association (WSGA)
The Westchester Seniors Golf Association conducts events and competitions for senior golfers from the Westchester, N.Y. area.
