Ryder Cup Week Arrives

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 22, 2025) — After more than a decade of waiting, and a couple years of intense buildup, it’s finally Ryder Cup week at Bethpage Black. Since the 2013 announcement, we even had to wait an extra year, as the 2020 Ryder Cup was postponed due to COVID and led to the competition now taking place in odd-numbered years. To add to the excitement, the Met Area’s very own Cameron Young – a four-time MGA champion and the 2015 MGA Player of the Year – is part of the American team looking to defeat the Europeans.

From Captain Keegan Bradley’s years of sneaking on the Black while at St. John’s University to Cameron Young’s New York State Open victory at the venue, the Met Area storylines run deep at Bethpage. This year has included a variety of lead-up coverage, including the recently released videos as part of the Road to the Majors In Partnership with Rolex series and features and additional stories in The Met Golfer.

Prior to the Ryder Cup teeing off on Friday, the Junior Ryder Cup takes place Tuesday through Thursday, with the first two days of matches contested at 2024 Ike host Nassau Country Club. New Jersey standout Rayee Feng, who will compete for the MGA in October’s Carey Cup matches, is part of the U.S. squad.
